On Sunday evening, Paul gathered with the church on the third floor of a building. Many people crowded into the room to hear him speak. Oil lamps flickered, giving light to the space as Paul began teaching.

A Young Man Falls Asleep

Among the crowd was a young man named Eutychus. He sat in the window, probably hoping the cool night air would help him stay awake. But as Paul kept preaching late into the night, Eutychus grew sleepier and sleepier.

Finally, he fell into a deep sleep. Suddenly he tumbled out of the window and fell three stories to the ground!

The people rushed downstairs in alarm. When they reached Eutychus, he appeared to be dead.

God's Miracle Through Paul

Paul hurried down and threw himself on the young man, taking him in his arms. "Don't be alarmed," Paul told everyone. "He's alive!"

Just like that, Eutychus was breathing again! God had performed a miracle through Paul, bringing Eutychus back to life. This breath-taking event reminded everyone of other healing stories in the Bible where God showed His power.

After this incredible event, everyone went back upstairs. Paul continued his teaching and also shared a meal with them until daybreak. When morning came, the believers brought Eutychus home, and they were greatly comforted knowing he was alive and well.
