Once, a powerful man called a centurion (kind of like a soldier's boss) had a servant who was terribly sick. The centurion believed that Jesus could heal his servant, even without visiting. They climbed onto the roof, made a hole, and lowered their friend right down to Jesus. And guess what? Jesus made the man strong enough to stand up and walk all by himself!

"Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus." In Jesus' time, if you couldn't see, life was much harder. There were no guide dogs or glasses back then. Imagine a world of only darkness! Some blind men met Jesus and asked for help. Jesus gently touched their eyes, and their sight returned. Imagine opening your eyes for the first time after only knowing darkness. The beauty of the world that day must have been amazing!

"As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” …Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; and their sight was restored." (Matthew 9:27, 29-30)

"And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. He told them to show themselves to the special doctors who checked diseases – the priests. On the way poof! all their spots were gone! One man was so happy that he came back to say thank you. 😴 Story #8: Wakey Wakey! – Jesus Raises a Girl from the Dead

What's sadder than being sick? Saying goodbye to someone you love! A little girl, the daughter of an important man, died. This made her parents extremely sad. But Jesus wasn't afraid! He took the girl's hand, said a few words, and just like waking up from a nap, she opened her eyes again. Imagine their joy!

"While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.” Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” …He took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up." Have you ever been to a waterpark with super fun slides and a lazy river? In Jesus' time, there was a pool in Jerusalem called Bethesda. It wasn't for splashing and playing, though. "Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” (John 5:1-6)

Have you ever tried covering your ears, not making a sound, and pretending you couldn't hear anything? Imagine your whole life was like that – you couldn't hear the birds sing, your friends laugh, or even your own voice. For one man, this was his reality. He couldn't hear or speak.

Some people brought him to Jesus, hoping for help. Jesus did something unusual. He took the man away from the crowd, put his fingers in the man's ears, and gently touched the man's tongue. Jesus looked up to heaven and then said, "Be opened!" Suddenly, the man could hear clearly, and he started speaking normally!

"Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis. There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged Jesus to place his hand on him. After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”).

At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. People were overwhelmed with amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.” (Mark 7:31-37)
