Story of the Israelites Crossing the Red Sea

Chapter 1: The Escape from Egypt

The Israelites left Egypt in a hurry, carrying unleavened bread and their belongings. God led them with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, guiding them toward the Red Sea (Exodus 13:21-22).

But Pharaoh changed his mind. He gathered his army—600 chariots and thousands of soldiers—and chased after the Israelites. When the Israelites saw the Egyptians approaching, they were terrified.
